SHAM presents an evening of live original music for the launch of singer/producer Diggs Duke’s newest sound.
After self-releasing a collection of five stunning EPs in 2012 and playing well-received small group shows in New York, Atlanta and Amsterdam in 2013, the DC-based bandleader returns home with a grander project.
This extended ensemble featuring winds and strings, shining a light on the subtleties of both Duke’s music and that of visiting St. Louis vocalist/songwriter, Coultrain. With a new album entitled “Jungle Mumbo Jumbo” recently released on LA’s Plug Research Records, ‘Train is at the height of his creativity.

–Reviews–
“The left of center St. Louis singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist’s commanding vocals and engaging narrative make [Coultrain’s] latest opus a must listen.” – Okayplayer
“Today’s more athletic brand of R&B is all fine and good, but sometimes you want a bit more than the slick production and endless sea of oversinging and falsetto that seems to be mainstream R&B’s flavor du jour. So, where do you look when you need a little bit of substance and art with your soul music? Look no further than indie artist Diggs Duke.” – SoulBounce
“Duke masterfully adds a level of personality and artistic creativity to topics that would otherwise be unoriginal.” – AOL The Boombox
